Jamaica – my favorite island

Why is Jamaica my favorite island??

I was always told that I would never like Jamaica.  Never leave the resort, people will steal from you and it is dirty.  I found all those things to be untrue.  My first trip to Jamaica was some 15 years ago for a short getaway and I have continued to return again and again.

Why??  I find the people so warm and friendly –  from the workers at the airport, the resorts, the  drivers, and the local persons walking the beach.  Everyone offers words of comfort while on island and  very helpful if you get lost or have questions.

The other is the wonders of the island — the different locations.  From the Mountains and waterfalls of Ocho Rios to the big city Montego Bay – to the beautiful sunsets of Negril and South Coast.  Each area offering up a variety to please very person.

Time and again I visit and try to see something different and revisit the places that I love.  From Dunn’s River Falls, Mystic Mountain, to Adventure Zipline, Bob Marley Museum or YS Falls.  And don’t forget the Rick’s Cafe cliff divers, the rum Factory, and the Black River.

Travel with me and share any adventures you have explored in Jamaica

Me Wed Education Trip

I have been attending the MeWed Love Mexico wedding this week in Puerto Vallarta.
After 3 days of extensive training and site inspections of various hotels, I have learned many new things that may need to be considered when I do my destination weddings.

Should I offer to go with the Bride and groom for a check out the wedding location trip??

Should I offer my bride and groom my constant services and be the planner of entire wedding??

Should I travel with bride and groom and make sure the wedding is what they want and be the go between.

Many new ideas — what do brides and grooms want while I am planning their destination wedding.

These are services – that maybe I should be offering and servicing my clients for relaxing wedding.

Destination Weddings – planning early for best costs!

Planning a destination wedding or thinking about it??

Having a wedding of 10 or more persons requires timing and planning just as a local wedding does.

If you want the best price for rooms and availability – you must book early.  We typically book or Sandals and Beaches weddings 9 months to 18 months ahead of time.

Getting your guests to book early also helps them budget for the trip.  Most can pay monthly with no surprises.

Let me know if you have any questipns.

SINGLES TRAVEL – women and men – it is out there

How many people live alone?? 110 million people live alone. Most of these loved to travel but now going by themselves is not what they want – or feel unsafe or maybe find traveling along boring!
There is now an opportunity to travel with other singles.
This is not a hook up or dating match up trip. This is a way to travel like you did when you used to have a companion or friends to travel with. It is also a way to meet new friends that have like travel needs. It seems cost effective not overly priced or over the top.
There are specific events included – such as tours – events hosted for group at resort and other mingle opportunities.
I know many people are wondering if this is for them – me included.
The room rates are single rates – or you can ask them to match you up with someone your age and preferences – a good way to meet a new traveling buddy.

I too seemed skeptical.
What are your thoughts on this subject?
After some research I found that some are looking for love – others are just wanting to travel and not eat dinners alone – they love the world of travel and this is the way to see it.
There are cruises with themes based around holidays when being alone is tough. To warm weather beach destination for 4 or 7 nights. I even have seen some adventure tours for those that like to live on the edge!

I have several of these opportunities whether it be by land or sea – contact me if I have piqued your interest.
There may be a man vacation out there that you can’t resist.

Nassau Bahamas a must see resort Sandals Royal Bahamian all inclusive for couples only

Who would think that being a born and raised Iowan, I would like to go to the Bahamas in August?? What a great trip! The weather is similar to our hot days in July and add a little more humidity. If you love the sun and warm why not give it a try!
As you pull up to the resort you have a feel of being treated like English Royalty. We were whisked off to the club lounge and promptly given a cool towel that was misted with the scent of lemongrass and was refreshing after the journey. We were give a cold glass of champagne while we were getting checked in by the staff. AHH let the vacations begin!

We were escorted to our room and explained all the lovely things we saw along the way and information on where to grab a bite to eat at that moment.

From the view in the room – what do you think – no touch up print here.

There is a private island off the main island – we just caught the shuttle over and enjoyed privacy of our own little dinner and found a private spot to just chill.

We did everything to our hearts content for eating, entertainment, exercising, snorkeling – we never were looking for extras. From Caviar at breakfast to great seafood meals. WOW is the personal experience at this location.

If you wanted to leave to shop – you just caught the local bus outside the gate to the straw market or catch a ferry over to Paradise island for a trip to Atlantis and another fun area.

After all the fun it is great to wind down and sit by a romantic fire while listening to live music in the background along with the sound of the ocean — what more can you ask

If you have never been here it is really worth going – the best months if you don’t like too much humidity in my opinion are March – June and then September to December. Being close to the states the winter months may be too chilly for some.
